About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is an epic tour of South America before starting grad school.

ABOUT ME

I am an avid traveler and a life long learner. My 1st degree is from the University of Washington in Seattle. I spent sometime after school traveling and working, as a dental assistant and a bartender. Beginning in fall 2012, I am returning to school, studying epidemiology at Boston University School of Public health. While I am not working or in school, I can usually be found cliff jumping or relaxing on a beach. In the winter, I snowboard as often as possible. I also enjoy spending time with my family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, I am a surfer! I have introduced my Mom to the site and she loves the idea so much, she is going to begin hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I prefer to go on vacation where I have friends and family, often finding myself on a couch. Thankfully I'm small and fit on most couches. I love having people around, hosting gatherings and playing tour guide. For these reasons my friends and family are always welcome at my house too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

New amazing thing! I ate some of the worlds largest chocolate Easter egg in Bariloche -April 8, 2012

Surviving a trek in Himalayas - Monsoon season was a month late, trails were washed out. I do not recommend getting caught above the tree line when a monsoon is hitting. My visit also included a head on collision on a windy mountain road. The unexpected constantly confronted me, (and my group,) while in India. But I am a better traveler for it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy teaching. I volunteer as a tutor in biology and mathematics for high school aged kids. But I am willing to teach anything you ask about - Dance, language, cooking or whatever.
Generally speaking, I want to learn everything. I love learning about other cultures, the sciences and people.
