CURRENT MISSION
to play great music
ABOUT ME
The fuel that I run on is ideas. Reading, learning and life experience is huge for me. My top priority always involves the creative process, this tends to manifest itself in writing music and writing ideas, in words. I've always made my living as a professional musician, allowing me to travel New Zealand and befriend people of diverse backgrounds and ages. I'm naturally introverted but fighting the disposition and finding out that personality is much more malleable than I thought! I love humor, the more clever and absurd the better.Over the course of my life I want to experience all the emotions and experiences that present themselves.
PHILOSOPHY
Knowing that the mountain has no top, that it is a perpetual quest from plateau to Plataea, the question arises, "why the struggle, the conflict, the heartbreak, the danger, the sacrifice. Why the constant climb?" Our answer is the same as that which a real mountain climber gives us when he is asked why he does what he does. "Because it's there." Because life is there ahead of you and either one tests oneself in its challenges or huddles in the valleys in a dreamless day to day existence whose only purpose is the preservation of an illusory security and safety. Saul Alinsky - Rules for Radicals

Music, Movies, and Books
Comedy: Demetri Martin, Steven Wright, Mitch Headburg, David Sedaris.
Music: Jazz, especially the golden age in the 50's and 60's and what's happening in the last 20 years. The rawer the better; real instruments, real people, no editing, mistakes and everything.
Books: Non-fiction, comedy, spiritual and autobiographical. Especially books on the human brain, meditation, creative process and philosophy. The Celestine Profecy and Eckheart Tolle's books have had a profound influence on me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While on tour in Taiwan, speeding lawlessly through the streets of Taichung in a convoy of black BMW's, trying to make the last train home.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching people the things I've learned about music. I've also taught meditation to friends.
Discovering peoples personal philosophy, higher thoughts and beliefs and way of being in the world has always been a source of fascination.
