About Me
ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Noah from Thailand 🇹🇭. https://www.instagram.com/noah_rachapong/
I'm an architect, traveler, and storyteller from the Isan region (Northeastern Thailand).
I’m open-minded, warm, and love deep conversations about life, food, and culture.
After years working in Singapore and studying in Chiang Mai, I returned to my rural roots in Ubon Ratchathani to build something meaningful—a homestay, a hostel, and now a Southern Thai restaurant with Isan ingredients.
My journey blends food, architecture, and identity into something that feels truly “me.”
✈️ Countries I’ve traveled to:
Japan, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia (Bali), Vietnam, Myanmar, UK, Tibet, Hong Kong, China (Shanghai, Chengdu), South Korea, Singapore, Dubai, USA, Australia
📸 What I love: Architecture, photography, sketching, biking, and talking about the world over a cup of coffee
🍛 Thai food? Always. I cook, I share, and I tell stories with food—especially Southern Thai dishes with my Isan twist.
MY PHILOSOPHY
My happiness = sharing stories, love, and food with people I meet
I truly believe that every stranger has something to teach me.
WHY I’M ON COUCHSURFING
To meet people with open hearts and curious minds.
I love cultural exchanges and always want to learn how people live in different parts of the world.
I’ve hosted travelers before, and now it’s my turn to explore and connect.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
New to officially surfing, but I’ve hosted backpackers, artists, and photographers at my homestay and hostel in Ubon. Now I’m on the road again—and open to everything!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I’ve always loved meeting people from around the world and sharing stories. A good friend of mine once hosted couchsurfers in Thailand and it was such a beautiful experience—we learned so much just by talking.
Now it’s my turn to be on the road, to learn, connect, and contribute.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I’ve had the chance to couchsurf in Japan and Vietnam, and those experiences changed the way I see the world.
Sharing meals, stories, and even walks through the city with my hosts reminded me that kindness and curiosity connect us beyond culture and language.
This summer, I’m looking forward to continuing that journey in Copenhagen, meeting open-hearted people, and hopefully returning the kindness I’ve received—with some spicy Thai food and big Isan smiles! 🇩🇰✨🍛
Music, Movies, and Books
I love music that makes me feel something—Thai indie, old-school soul, and sometimes just the sound of local people singing at a temple fair.
Favorite movie? The Secret Life of Walter Mitty—because it’s exactly how I see travel: a search for meaning.
I also enjoy books that blend life and creativity, like The Art of Travel by Alain de Botton or any book with stories about home, food, or identity.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I turned my parents’ small countryside house by the Mekong River into a cozy homestay for travelers.
It wasn’t just about building a place—it was about building connection, community, and pride in Isan culture.
We hosted travelers, ran workshops, cooked together, and even created our own bamboo coffee dripper!
That’s how I realized: home can be shared—even with strangers.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Thai cooking (especially spicy southern dishes), basic bamboo weaving, or how to sketch architecture like a traveler
Learn: Languages, local rituals, how to make your favorite food
Share: Stories from the rice fields of Isan, slow travel philosophy, and what it’s like to grow up between tradition and design
What I Can Share with Hosts
A warm heart, good conversation, and even better Thai food.
If there’s a kitchen, I’ll cook you something memorable.
If there’s a moment, I’ll sketch it for you.
I can also share my experience as an architect, host, and cultural advocate—plus travel tips across Thailand that only locals know.
