À propos de moi

I have worked as a private care giver and a government sponsored caretaker.
I took care of developmentally disabled adults and elderly people.
In 2013 & 2014 I volunteered a year of service in the United States Americorps NCCC-FEMA Corps program as an emergency manager.
This summer I worked at a salmon processing plant in Egigik, Alaska. ( Spoiler alert: it sucked.)

My newest journey will be serving a second year as a team leader in traditional NCCC in the north central region. I am looking forward to traveling the US in a 15 passenger van promoting service learning and leadership in young adults.

I love learning new things and traveling to new places.
I love to learn about cultures and languages, I have studied mandarin Chinese for 3 years and lived in china for approximately 3 months.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I'm a fan of most genres of music. A few favorites of mine are: YoYo Ma, Tove Lo, Enya, Die Antwoord, Taylor Swift, Immortal Technique, Sam Smith, Drake, & The Piano guys.

Libraries are one of my favorite places. I enjoy Science fiction, Mystery, Adventure, Fantasy, & the Classics.
I think my favorite book is currently stardust by Neil Gaimen.

I love movies, there are few I dislike. My favorites have to be LOTRs, Harry Potter, and Pulp Fiction.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I believe I will never be done learning. I am really grateful to learn new things. I have learned to cook from my mother and my grandmothers.
They have also taught me how to make things with my hands - like embroidery, knitting, and how to sew a quilt.
In high school I learned to love art. I can throw a clay bowl, make stained glass, and I can dye fabrics to make a colorful batik.
