my current mission is to have a good time, meet new people and be able to practice my foreign languages!

ABOUT ME

I am 21 years old. As I've mentioned, I'm a foreign languages major about to enter my last year of university. I have studied abroad two semesters, both my junior year. Fall 2011 in Alcala de Henares in the community of Madrid and Spring 2012 in Graz, Styria, Austria.

I consider myself fairly fluent in Spanish as my mother is from the canary islands. I am not bilingual but close. My Spanish is mostly influenced by Spain in vocabulary and accent but also by Venezuela where I have a lot of family and have visited twice.

I am still working very hard on my German this semester in Graz. I have learned the standard German but also picked up Austrian vocabulary and maybe some of the accent.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not yet but really want to get started!!! I would love to use Skype to get to know some people - we could practice Spanish, English, German - whatever! English is my native language so I'd be happy to help :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met up with one girl in Florence, Italy with a friend of mine. She showed us around and was very helpful! Besides that I have not actually hosted or been hosted yet.

Musica, film e libri

Not a big fan of movies...I like Hayao Miyazaki movies (Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service) and Pedro Almodovar movies (Todo sobre mi madre, La piel que habito)

Evanescence, Juli, Silbermond, Anna Nalick, Linkin Park, Staind, disney songs (especially in German or Spanish), The Beatles, Meg & Dia, Three Days Grace, Shakira

The Hunger Games trilogy and the Harry Potter series. I mostly like books that go on. My favorite genre is dystopian alternate universes, thus I also enjoyed Brave New World and A Clockwork Orange. I don't have the motivate to read on my own that much to be honest.

In my skillset I consider Spanish probably the thing I could help out with most. I would love to learn other languages too. I also happen to work with yarn a lot and crafting with knitting/crochet so although that sounds boring I would love to help teach that haha
