I spend part of the year in the west-central mountains of Idaho and the summers around New England with family. I've been working on a small no-till vegetable farm during the growing season and coordinating an adaptive wilderness sports program through the winters. I enjoy exploring new areas by bicycle while bumping good tunes, sharing stimulating conversations and good food with others, loving on puppy dogs, being able to see the Milky Way at night, saving insects, and thrift shopping.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy connecting with other humans. These days, most people don't speak to their neighbors or even know their neighbors. I think participating in couchsurfing is a good way to disrupt the disconnection and separation. Opening your home to strangers and vice versa is a good way to intentionally go outside your comfort zone and share kindness with others. Share kindness, always.

Interests

I enjoy creating delicious plant-based meals and sharing food with others. Spending time in wild places grounds me and brings me joy. I'm a memoir and non-fiction kind of gal when it comes to reading. I love all things snow-related, especially xc skiing and snowboarding. I drink tea often and I'm a sucker for coffee when it's paired with pie. Moving my body is essential to my well-being and usually includes one or more of the following: yoga, ice hockey, mountain biking, trail running, hiking. I'm passionate about environmental and social justice issues, I do weird things like washing and drying my produce bags...yep, I'm one of those!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch much TV, but I did recently get into Reservation Dogs (Hulu) and Ted Lasso (Apple TV) and been diggin' both of those shows.

I'm a lover of memoirs & non-fiction. I'm currently reading Braiding Sweetgrass.

I enjoy a variety of music, including jamming on my ukulele. Music interest is all over the place - John Cragie, Rising Appalacia, Lauryn Hill, Cake, Mac Miller, R Carlos Nakai, Lizzo, Common, The Barefoot Movement, John Prine, Macklemore, Sylvan Esso, Tom Petty, Xavier Rudd.... and much more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It may not be amazing to most, but I just taught a stranger how to ride a bike the other day. I was pretty stoked. I love bikes and getting more people on bikes!
