About Me

CURRENT MISSION

More Writing.

ABOUT ME

I just finished a degree in public policy. Thinking through how to flex my "educated" muscles. I work with a hyper-local news website in Jacksonville, Florida. We cover a lot of underground (and aboveground) issues. www.MetroJacksonville.com

Just married in Dec. 2014. Fun. I like it. New Kid, Jan. 2016.

two cats. One is a grumpy cuddler. The other is a kind killer. Update...the kind killer has left the home. After we had our kid the cats got less attention and Tula decided she needed to venture out on her own. We see her about once a month and she treats us like strangers.

PHILOSOPHY
Never consistent. But also, NeverTrump. I think a philosophy wrapped based on a nevertrump foundation will probably serve me well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the idea! And, I've only surfed once. I always forget that it's an option. And, whenever I remember it's the night before and too late!

Interests

I like conversations. I enjoy food. I relish learning. I love being shocked by government policy. I look a good debate!

Music, Movies, and Books

I wish I read more books. The bright light of my macbook, like a deer and headlights, keeps my attention.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy cooking and just started trying to figure out the basic ingredients that I take for granted. Like, how is butter made. Easy! whip some whip cream. Then, how is whip cream made? Don't know yet.

Started roasting my own coffee. Results are mixed but it's still cheaper and enjoyable. Either, I can spend $$$ on great coffee or $$ on okay coffee. Or, I can spend $ for great coffee with an okay roast!

Kombucha is on the regular. It's great to use for on the fly beer cocktails (lots of lemon. lots of ice).

Made my first batch of pickles this year, using no vinegar. It's easy and rewarding

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to bring a scoby, so you can make your own kombucha!
