ABOUT ME

Anna:

What can I say? I'm a child of two nations, Ukraine & Finland. My first time in a plane was when I was 5 months old and ever since I have been traveling and exploring the world as much as my studying & finances allow me. Admittedly I'm not your most outgoing type and tend to be more introverted than extroverted, but I really enjoy spending time with people from different cultures and trying new things - not all of them, though! I wouldn't eat living octopus. Sorry, Korea!

Antti: A social, outgoing turd who loves to meet new people but also loves silence when time comes.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

**Hosting**

We like to do both, surfing and hosting. Since we are somewhat busy especially during the summer, we won't be able to show our guests around the city but we have lots of information about places and can help and suggest things to see or check out. Anna is also a big food lover so you will get good suggestions about places to eat, whatever you like. We have sauna every mon and thu night so if our guests are interested, we can let them experience this essential part of Finnish culture with us - women and men separetely. :)

**Surfing**

Since we travel pretty much we like to surf, also. Even though it's nice to save some money, of course, that is not the most important part but rather to get to know local culture trough people who "master it" and to have company and share experiences. Anna is pretty good cook so if our hosts wish to taste something Finnish, it can easily be arranged. We usually don't have a lot of fixed plans and are very adjustable to different situations and locations. We like to hang out with our hosts, not all the time, of course, but dinners, trips to town or parties, all are welcomed. Whatever suits our hosts best!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Antti:
Hosting people from different parts of the globe with my partner; meeting and visiting fantastic people in Russia, South Korea, Brazil, France etc.

Anna:
I'm not your most active couchsurfer but I've hosted few people here in Finland and couchsurfed myself in Barbados and South Korea. All my experiences have been positive - actually almost too god to be true although in this case they really seem to be true! Looking forward to host/surf more.

Godfather, American Ninja, Master and Margarita, Rocky, Sergio Leone etc. the usual shit. The movies you think suck just might be among my favourites. :)

Anna:
* Books: sci-fi, horror, fantasy, Russian classics (especially Chekhov and Gogol), Robert E. Howard, Edgar Allan Poe, Saima Harmaja, Weird tales, history & cultural studies
* Movies: "Funny bad movies" like American Ninja series, UK period dramas (Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre, North & South etc.), horror movies (especially old classics), Film Noir, Hercule Poirot, Wooster and Jeeves, action, some romantic stuff, historical movies, Korean & Japanese movies, Korean dramas.
*Music: Movie soundtracks tend to be great, Russian folk songs, some heavy metal like Aria (Russian) and Nightwish (Finnish), 80's pop music. Not liking clearly any band expect already mentioned two but rather just isolated songs from very different performers.

I tried to vote for Vladimir Putin in the Russian presidential elections in 2008 - I held a Finnish passport and Putin was not a candidate
