About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current life mission is to learn all 7 of the UN's languages. I already know English, and took Spanish at my uni. I'm now studying in Spain and am keen to see all that Europe has to offer!

ABOUT ME

Where to start? I love life and nature, and as much as I love exploring cities and meeting people, I also live for the quiet moments of bushwalking, bodyboarding, bikeriding and just taking in the view.

I'm a 20 years old uni student and I love learning about people, places and things and discussing views of life, love, politics, religion, history, architecture, movies, education and society.

I LOVE meeting people from different countries, especially those from non-English speaking ones, and hearing their life stories.

Anything else, ask and ye shall find.

PHILOSOPHY

Do unto others as you would have done unto you - regardless of which background you come from this is a beautiful universal rule of the heights of human interaction. I think it also embodies the giving-taking and sharing nature of CouchSurfing itself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Let's see.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met up with one awesome guy from Colombia, Alejandro, and it's amazing where you meet people, and where they pop up. I've met so many Couchsurfing people and had really good times with them that I have really come to love CS. I wish I just could remember all their names to add them!

Interests

Movies, philosophy, music (I am so music-illiterate it's not funny. However, I enjoy music and can play piano passably, and I like learning about people's tastes).

I love exploring the vibrant hearts of cities, the dusty country towns and untamed wilderness equally for they all offer different life experiences. For the same reason, I love meeting people with education and sophistication, and those with more practical knowledge and earthy tastes. Everyone is unique and the flavour each adds to life is special.

Less esoterically I love watching movies and TV shows (although I mainly watch on the Net - I hardly ever watch TV), I love reading, studying Spanish (especially cultural differences)
Some others:
Being amazed by nature and spectacular scenery
Travelling
Arguing about things I don't understand just to argue :)
Drinking Jack Daniels & Coke and Black Sambucca. I'm trying to get accustomed to beer - God know's it's cheaper!
Parties
Late-night drunk conversations about the meaning of life
Historical objects
Using cameras to interact with the landscape/building/historical objects
Dancing and not caring what people think
Gettin' loose
Tapas! (Tapas in Leon are free with your meal. Therefore Leon is the greatest city on Earth)
The Beach
Surf - like actual waves. Not this Med Sea schizen
Heat
Tanning
Exploring
Getting childishly excited about something
Girls
Being so overwhelmed by emotion when confronted by famous inanimate objects that you can't speak or move
Spontaneity
Taking photos and regretting them the next day
Road TRIPS!
Screwing with people over Australian stereotypes
Logic
PC Gaming
Facebook
Swimming
Jokes

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most movies and I tend to be a little sci-fi nerd at times. Some of my favourites are Black Swan, Star Wars, Inception, Capitalism: A Love Story, The Passion of the Christ, Shawshank Redemption, Lord of the Rings, The Last Samurai, Forrest Gump, WALL-E, The Life of Brian, Monty Python's The Holy Grail, The Prestige, Braveheart, Inglourious Basterds, The King's Speech, Up, Indiana Jones, Blood Diamond, Stranger than Fiction, Slumdog Millionaire, District 9, Toy Story (all), The Social Network, V for Vendetta and many more.

TV Shows: Black Adder, Black Books, How I Met Your Mother, The Simpsons, Futurama, The Tudors, Spongebob Squarepants, Friends, Firefly, ABC News 24 (not strictly tv show I know but still awesome), Family Guy, House (the first 2 seasons anyway), The Big Bang Theory, True Blood, SCRUBS!!!, The Office (American only - sorry I know I'm awful), Two and a Half Men, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Seinfeld, Masterchef Australia, Kath & Kim, Glee (Yes I know I should be castrated), Good Game, The Gruen Transfer, Q and A, QI, Thank God You're Here, Talkin' Bout Your Generation, Catalyst, Australian Story, Four Corners, Getaway, The New Inventors, Rome.

I won't list the amount of books I love but generally I like David Eddings, Jeffrey Archer, Bryce Courtney and many many random books. One I would thoroughly recommend is called The Clean Industrial Revolution by Ben McNeil. At the moment I'm thoroughly engrossed in A Song of Fire and Ice - it is simply put the best epic fantasy series ever!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Europe.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play the piano and speak English (mother tongue) and intermediate Spanish, all of which I am willing to teach.

I also love to share views on history, religion, politics and philosophy and lots of things that people have firm conviction on.

I can also teach you some highly original "dance" moves that my friends and I sometimes break out in the clubs. I can cook somewhat and I suppose I can teach some watersports if we have the time.

I'd love to continue learning languages, learn more cookery, learn martial arts, learn meditation or practically anything really.
