About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I am determined to live in a community whose sole intention is to nurture. Fostering self-exploration and self-expression while cooperating in cultivation. Cultivation of continual evolution. Building up and honing in skill after skill.

At the same time, my heart yearns to be nomadic. I am determined to circumnavigate this flying orb we inhabit by way of love and wit. Trading. Walking. Hitching. Cycling. Hunting and gathering. Visiting with elders. Amassing other intrepid travelers. Learning.

I am doing the preparatory foot work for when the bus arrives!

ABOUT ME
I'm Annie Rose Bloom. I was born and raised among white, Catholic professionals. The silver lining: Jerry Garcia sang me to sleep. As a result, I'm confused. I'm rather ill-adapted to thriving within capitalism, and I loathe planned obsolescence. Yet, I've spent most of my days in the comforts of material wealth. I am shedding that latter skin, now.

My fascination with any and all cultures was revealed to me in my first anthropology class. My pupils dilated as we watched an anthropologist smoke some unidentified herb with the elders of some Papua New Guinea tribe. The young men of the tribe skipped around whooping and hollering: preparing for a cricket match with the neighbors. Traveling has revealed my ability to trust that 'all the universe conspires in helping you' and my ability to be astute to my surroundings. I enjoy wandering without a set agenda, being open to (most) invitations. Working at gear shops revealed my desire to be outside. Forget reading in libraries! WWOOF revealed to me my desire to grow and raise my own food but within a community setting (shared work, shared abundance). Permaculture has brought it all together.

Post college graduation has been dreamy. Rather introspective. I'm still floating somewhere in the ether, discovering my hidden abilities. The thing that seems to linger on the fringes of every interest is 'culture'. Moreover, 'cultures' ability to tell the history of 'place'.

I'm discovering my place.

PHILOSOPHY
"We are put on earth for a little space that we might learn to bear the beams of love." -William Blake

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Pooped outside, often. Much more satisfying than pooping in fresh water.

Attempted to start an intentional community (permaculture learning oasis, really) on my uber conservative grandparents' land.

Oh and milked a goat!

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH
I can teach you Low Rider on the harmonica. Rubik's Cube! And help you stand on your head.

LEARN
I want to fly. And scuba dive. Oh, and crochet.

SHARE
We can share stories of triumphs and tribulations or philosophies on life for hours. Or we could embark on some adventure together (whether is be to the local pub, local forest, or some far away place). Sharing in the thrill of life rather than talking about it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a bright smile, breakfast, and camaraderie.
