About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hurtling uncontrollably through spacetime and trying to enjoy the ride

ABOUT ME

Perpetual student of archaeology and semi-nomad

PHILOSOPHY

"You want to be a good archaeologist... you've got to get out of the library!" - Indiana Jones

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
- Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The only experience I have of couchsurfing is the time I met a random guy on the streets of Athens in 2008 and he invited me to a party his friends were hosting as they had guests couchsurfing with them. It was a great night with a fascinating bunch of people, who were so welcoming despite the fact that I was a complete stranger their friend had picked up in the street!

Interests

Archaeology, old stuff, hiking, sailing, opera (watching, not singing!), the world, the sea, language, people, trees, travel, vegan food, environmentalism, Buddhism, music festivals...

Music, Movies, and Books

To give an idea of my musical tastes, my favourite radio stations are the French station FIP and the Austrian stations FM4 and Radio Stephansdom.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My life is full of amazing experiences, from the huge and epic to the tiny fleeting moments; what's the point of being alive otherwise?! But just to pick one...

Sailing the North Atlantic on a tall ship, no sight of land for 15 days, just the sea, the sails and the stars... and 30 strangers who became a team, a crew, a family...

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Nepal, Slovakia, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Austria, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Nepal, United Kingdom
