Finishing my one year report

ABOUT ME

Outgoing, fun-loving, interesting and always willing to try out new things. I play chess so if anyone is up for a challenging game, you have found the right person to match your wits against. I am also interested in politics, social issues, ecology, science and technology (I love gadgets), and economics.

PHILOSOPHY

Honestly, I haven't been settled enough to have one concrete one, seems my circumstances have always determined what I do and where I go.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My wife and I will be moving to Dundee in the new year (2016) to a much bigger place with an extra bedroom that is fully furnished so we will be able to start hosting from next year on. Very excited because we have never had a big place all to ourselves to be able to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosted thrice since I got here. Jeroen hosted me for a week and it was an amazing experience as I had just arrived and he picked me up from the train station. He carried my suitcase on his huge bike which can easily pass for a truck. He was super nice and the best thing about it was that I always had someone to ask questions about Groningen and directions and where to do this and that, unlike in Germany where I had to self-orient from the first day. He is an amazing chef as well so make sure you always have an appetite when you visit him or surf there.
My second couchsurfing experience was at Jelle's place but unfortunately he wasn't there so I will get back to that one later. My third couchsurfing experience was at Janina's place. She was more than a great host, it's like she was being graded and was going to get a final mark considering the way she took care of me and everything that comes along with being a guest in a hotel. I think she did a fantastic job in making sure I travel to the next country where she will be so that she can host me again.

兴趣

Football (soccer), chess, anything related to science and technology, our planet, socio-economic issues and traveling. I have a lot of interests but these are the main ones that get my blood flowing and my heart pumping. Am always willing to expand the list so bring it on.

I read a lot of science and technology stuff, especially online magazines like pcmag and science journals like nature. Too numerous to mention here though so I will stop there. I listen mostly to reggae, dancehall, hiphop, soft rock, dance, some pop and urban grooves (Zimbabwean music for the young generation). Movies movies movies, God this is a hard one, hmmm let's see, The Godfather Trilogy, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Star Wars, Pulp Fiction, Scarface, Reservoir Dogs, The Dark Knight, The Matrix, ok I will stop there

Winning a 10km marathon when I was 13 years old and was competing in an under-16 tournament.

Couchsurfing has taught me a lot about trust and human compassion and I hope others learn from my experiences as a guest late 2014. My heart has lightened up in realizing not everyone out there is an *******, because they are there and we all know it but not in this community and that's a wonderful thing. I shall forever be a COUCHSURFER.
