Overview
About Me
I'm a registered architect in Vancouver, Canada. I like the outdoors, surfing, cultural activities, live music and contemporary architecture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I grew up involved with CISV (children's international summer villages). Travelled to Argentina on an exchange in the mid nineties & Saskatchewan in 2000 for a seminar camp (the Canadian delegate) and was involved in local Ottawa chapter throughout elementary & high school. CISV in my life at such a young age enriched my understanding of the world, it's people and the struggles. I hope couch surfing can do the same too.
After high school, I backpacked and worked through Central America for a year visiting old colleagues of an exchange I did to Liberia, Costa Rica in highschool. I hold the people I met that year very dear to me also. Probably one of the best decisions I ever made.
I now don't travel very much outside of North America while I am saving up to buy into Vancouver real estate - so I'd love to meet and help interesting people to curb my travel desires which still very much exist !
Interests
My professional life extends into my personal life with my obvious interests in Architecture + Design + Photography. I have significant experience designing and producing multi-family residential (condos), institutional and industrial building typologies while open to all areas of speciality. I love the outdoors, being active, concerts and cocktails. Surfing in Tofino is my mediation.

Music, Movies, and Books
My husband and I keep up with the indie music scene. My favorites are constantly evolving though. Some all-time-favorite staples though are the cure, glass animals, RJD2, portishead, radiohead, David Bowie, tycho, ratatat, beach house.
My husband writes for a living. We have an impressive book collection - my favorite staples include Jonathan Carroll, Russell Hobin, Haruki Murukami.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Completed a full week of silence and fasting at the volcanic lake Atitlan at "las piramides" in Guatemala. Did yoga every morning during that time and spent the days on the dock of the stunning lake in reflection. The real test of my silence was at night when all the dogs were in heat and were howling as I tried to sleep ; )
Teach, Learn, Share
I can give you an itinerary of compelling architectural projects in Canada if that is your interest - especially in Vancouver. My husband Shawn can recommend you the most tailored to you book recommendations you might ever get.
