ABOUT ME

I live a very active lifestyle and believe that balance is essential. I love finding ways to create healthier alternatives to comfort food but at the same time would rarely turn down ice cream or frozen yogurt. One of my favourite things to do is listen to live music (especially at outdoor venues). My taste in music is extremely diverse, some of my favourites include country, indie rock, and alternative.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing so that I can integrate with the travel community and experience new cultures more authentically and more affordably. I would love to see many of the sights that exist in different countries however I am more interested in learning the traditions and cultural interactions of different places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I grew up being an athlete and have now turned the chapter in my life and am exploring myself outside the world of sports. However, in 2011 I was a member of the Team Alberta Womens Hockey team that won the Canada Winter Games (a sort of "mini olympics" held every four years in Canada). We beat Team Ontario who we had not beat in 20 years. Winning the championship as an underdog was an amazing experience because it showed me that as long as you believe in yourself and prepare appropriately, the opinion of others doesn't have to hinder your outcomes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can provide visitors with a location that is very central in Toronto and makes accessing most if not all of Toronto's attractions very convenient. I can help direct (and possibly show) visitors all the diverse scenes in Toronto, such as the Entertainment District, Kensington Market, Queen West and many other areas (including local hangouts such as Trinity Bellwoods). I believe in getting the most out of a city, while spending minimally and I can help visitors do this in my city! Additionally, if a visitor is up for it I would love to take them on a running tour of some of downtown Toronto!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share music and fitness suggestions as well as recipes! I would love to help cook as well. Additionally I am very open to suggestions of sights and venues and activities to check out in your local environment! Also I will do my part by being clean and respecting your time and space. I am a strong supporter of open communication so please feel free to communicate any of your expectations to me so that we are on the same page!
