I am part way through my medical training in New Zealand and have decided to take a gap year this year. I am planning on spending 5 months in Japan meeting up with friends from my last visit in 2012, doing a lot of walking about, meeting new people and learning more Japanese.

Walked the length of the South Island through the southern alps. Was 1400km worth of hiking and quite an adventure.
