Hi! I’m Ariana, 28 years old and originally from Hamburg, Germany.
I’m currently studying medicine. I’ve lived in Bulgaria, Germany, and Sri Lanka, and I’ve traveled to 25+ countries so far. Exploring new places, cultures and perspectives is honestly one of my biggest passions, I’m almost always planning my next trip.
I love meaningful conversations, spontaneous walks through a city, discovering local food spots, and hearing people’s stories. I’m very open-minded, curious and genuinely interested in how others live and see the world.
As a guest, I’m clean, organized and respectful of your space and house rules. I’m social and happy to spend time together (cooking, talking or exploring), but I also totally understand and respect if you need your own time.
For me, Couchsurfing is about connection, not just accommodation. I’d love to leave as a new friend, not just a guest :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best part of traveling isn’t the sightseeing, it’s the people. I love connecting with locals, sharing stories, and experiencing a place through someone who actually lives there. For me, it’s about cultural exchange, meaningful conversations and turning a trip into a real human experience.

Interests

Surfing:
Three years ago, I decided it was time to finally try surfing and now I’m hooked. Living in Germany makes it a bit of a logistical challenge, so I try to escape to the ocean several times a year to improve and chase that surfer spirit. Along the way, I’ve met the most incredible people — there’s just something about salty hair, early mornings and shared wipeouts that connects you instantly.

Travelling:
Traveling in general is my biggest passion. It opens doors, shifts perspectives, and constantly reminds me how big (and beautiful) the world is. I love diving into different cultures - the history, the food, the everyday life and especially the amazing people you meet along the way.

Running:
Recently, I’ve also discovered running for myself and I’m currently training for a half marathon in Hamburg at the end of June. So if you’re into running too, we might end up going for a jog together.

DIY:
And when I’m not chasing waves or flights, I love DIY projects, being creative, building or crafting something with my hands and just letting my mind breathe a little.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the craziest things I’ve done? Ziplining from one island to another, jumping 7 meters into deep canyon water during a canyoneering tour, hiking up volcanoes, and going paragliding, just to name a few.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m always happy to share more than just stories. I can cook a meal from my culture (or recreate one from the 20+ countries I’ve traveled to), share travel tips and hidden gems from places I’ve lived like Germany, Bulgaria, or Sri Lanka and of course lots of fun adventure stories.
I’d also love to exchange perspectives — whether it’s about medicine, different cultures, life goals, or just random late-night thoughts. If you’re into staying active, I’m always up for a run, a walk, or trying something new together.
