ABOUT ME

Having left the UK in 2009 on a 1 way ticket, Dave and I have managed to see Thailand, India, a huge amount of Australia, having been home to the UK just once!

We now live in Melbourne by the sea and having had quite a few friends and family visit us in the last 6 months we thought it was time to open our doors and return the favor's that couch surfing hosts showed us while we were living with just a back pack and following our feet

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We discovered Couch Surfing by word of mouth just before we left the UK, and it really helped us to meet locals, and experience things that were not in the guide books while we were traveling.

We now want to give back to others...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While in Thailand we spent a month living with a Thai man - the father of the teacher that we were helping at the School in Thailand. Though he is not listed on here as a reference, we can say it was one of the best experiences we have had in a long time. It was very humbeling to be welcomed into someone's home so openly. We also met a great friend Brooke through couch surfing in Darwin and had experienced great hospitality in Queensland

Also, since being in Australia we have stayed with a family on the orchard we have been working on for the 2 months which was brilliant and couch surfed with Tim in Mackay and Brooke in Darwin - which were also great experiences.

兴趣

Dave also loves making music - its his true passion in life. He's not so good with instruments though, so it is all electronic music on the laptop... He is also good at AFL, Kite Surfing, cricket, tennis, skateboarding, juggling, the devil sticks...

My interest is more in the design side of things. I design lingerie for a reputable brand, based here in Melbourne, and I've been working in lingerie design since graduating in 2006. I have recently set up a new craft business with a friend making party clothing and accessories.

Shantaram by Gregory Robert Davis is a amazing book and Dave enjoys reading Dan Brown books.

If music is loud and electronic it will generally keep Dave happy, we enjoy going to festivals and to music nights in melbourne. we have a few friends who are Melbourne djs so there is always something going on
