About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm a primary school teacher in Wrocław, on a short-term mission to visit every country in Europe and long-term mission to live on every continent. (Except Antarctica maybe.) I hope to meet a lot of new people and learn enough Polish to not embarrass myself while I am living here.

ABOUT ME

As a traveler, I am pretty laid back. I like experiencing new places by actually meeting people who live there rather than just existing in a bubble of hotels and tourist attractions. I often travel just for the weekend, and I will go someplace alone if no one can go with me. I love going out and have a crazy time, but I'm also content to just walk around, observing architecture and street art and greenery and bookshops.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet locals and see where things are happening. I also hope I can use couch surfing to find a place to stay in my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've used couchsurfing a couple times in the states and had pretty good experiences! My hosts were always willing to take me around and show me cool things to do in the area.

Interests

swing and salsa dancing, eating food, reading about things (either on the Internet or in a book), hella overposting on Instagram, cooking!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Latin American literature, especially Roberto Bolaño. I am also super into Murakami right now. His style is like a Japanese, more sci-fi-ish magical realism.
I also love jazz/blues music and salsa/bachata/tango music for dancing, but I listen to almost all types of music except EDM.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to debate camp in Italy when I was 17. I'm not sure what my mom was thinking, letting me go to a foreign country that is notoriously lax about alcohol age restrictions with a bunch of 15-21 year olds by myself, but she did, and I think I'm the better for it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn more Polish!
I can help people practice their English or Spanish! I am a primary school teacher but I have also taught English as a second language.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love going out dancing, or just having a drink! I'm always willing to buy a round.
I can help you with your English if you'd like!
I also love to cook, and I can make some American favorites like mac'n'cheese (the real stuff, not the box) and also some Mexican dishes like tacos or enchiladas.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico, Poland, United States
