About Me
Hello Everyone!
I’m Ariel, a Guatemalan boy from San Francisco living in LA :D
I was born in SF but grew up mostly in Guatemala and moved back to SF in my 20s. Although I speak English most of the time and with most of my friends, Spanish is my first language. I also speak a very rusty French and I consider my Portuguese good. Estão se vc fala português, fala pra mim.
I work from home and my schedule is very flexible, which is great as It gives me freedom to do a lot of things. I still have a Monday to Friday schedule so weekends are better for me. I love doing outdoor activities and staying active, so if you’re into hiking, beach days, pools, and anything cool workouts, I’m your guy. But also if you want to know about every party going on in LA and where the fun is, I got you.
I'm a openly gay man and I enjoy living my gay life, so I would like to meet other gay surfers as I would want to feel comfortable at home with my guests, and honestly I don’t think I have a lot in common with straight guys or girls.
I have a big love for Brazil and Portuguese, so please start your request by saying “Oi!”. I think is a cute fun way to say hi and also it will indicate that you read my profile and I’ll know you are a committed surfer who does read about their potential hosts and not a lazy one who just wants a free place to crash. Be smart when sending your request and let me know why you think I’m a match for you as a host, what are your plans while staying with me in LA, make sure you read my home profile for sleeping arrangements, and be ok on being on your own but also make some time to share with me. I don’t want to host random people, I want to make friends. Make your request personal and make it stand out. I get so many requests every week from travelers who don’t care about the host and just want to crash for free. If I feel like is a generic request I’ll simply deny with no message back.
If you’ve read till here you can skip the rest as I think the most important things have been said, but do read the my home section as that is also very important. I’ve done this for so many years now, so I’m a little picky with my guests so be nice, smart, read carefully and send a unique request. Bonus points if you can tell me accurately if I currently have hair or shaved head ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted people from many different countries and every time has been a different good experience.
Meeting people from all over the world not only helps you to know new people but also increases your knowledge from other countries and their cultures, and that's something I like to do, I like to get to know a country by the people that lives there and their experiences and culture.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experience so far in CS has been great. I have hosted great people and I have surfed great couches. All of my hosts have been awesome and fun. My first time surfing was in NY and it was great. If you use CS as a place to meet people and exchange culture then you will have fun doing it. If you go to a hostel you will see lots of tourists in the same situation as you so that's why I like CS cause you get to know the country by its local people and the exchange of culture is incredible.
Interests
I have all sorts of internets, but I’m mostly interested in meeting nice and fun people who are respectful to others. But just to see if we have things in common, I like going on hikes, a nice day at the pool, spending a sunny day at the beach, going dancing or for some drinks and if the night is right a fun party till sunrise. I also like movies, listening to music all day or smoke at night 420 and just chill. I’m interested in meeting other naturist folks as our household is usually clothe or little clothe optional.
Music, Movies, and Books
All kind of movie, Oscar winners and nominees are a plus lol. And you can't forget Disney, Disney is a must in my movie favorites list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching the sun rising from the top of "Volcan de Agua" a volcano here in Guatemala. It was an amazing experience, it was freaking cold but you didn't mind in that moment cause the view was breathtaking and the moment was incredible.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love talking about traveling and all the fun experiences one can have while traveling. I love hearing traveling stories and tips. A great guest would be one that can share stories and exchange tips and tricks for future travels.
What I Can Share with Hosts
