Overview
About Me
Since 2010 I am living in Essen in the Ruhrarea and i really love this place and the people here. I am active in several initiatives, which are engaged in urban gardening, Repair Café, cargo bikes, topics around sustainability... (Transition Town, IfN, Bonnekampstiftung)
While studying I joined AIESEC and met a lot of people from every where. Before that I lived for 5 month in Bournemouth (GB) to work in a Hotel and Restaurant.
Later On I worked at UNIAKTIV at the university and got more connected to civil engagement.
In 2018 my friends and I opened up some kind of a community store called Fachgeschäft für Stadtwandel (specialty store for the transition of city's). People can come to us relax, discuss climate issues and consumption decisions. Everybody is welcome to invest his and her ideas like workshops, concerts...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to connect people who are visiting Essen with my city and the wonderful people who are living and engaging themselves in it. Vice versa I prefer to get to know people of a foreign city and see their city through their eyes.
Interests
I got two cats and a dog. Love the sun and warm days, gardening, cooking and baking, going to a pub (in Essen: Felis, Café Nord, Temple bar, panic room...). I enjoy Festivals with camping (Auerworld). So what I really like is to get to know all kind of people, listen to their story and find out how they move and act espacially in a city. Just having a good time with some beer and music also makes me happy.
