ABOUT ME
I have grown up in Athens with origins from southern Peloponnese and I have been living in Kalymnos since 2005. I have enjoyed quite some travelling when I was single and Greece was not (so deeply) in crisis yet. Some time I got married and now I am practically divorced, with a baby-son who stays with his mother in the same island -so I can see him quite often. As I have such pleasant obligations and the economic situation in Greece is bad, I need to work a lot and I am trying hard to keep some hobby activities, mainly theatre and reading.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to put my own stamp in my life and not let myself adapted in the society's mainstreams.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted many people visiting this island, among them some rock climbers, people looking for quiet holidays or even people going to or coming from Kos or Bodrum, Turkey. I have also been hosted 2-3 times. When I was married, I stopped CS activities, because I could not make decisions by myself, but together with my then wife, I kept in good contact with two persons I had accommodated before from this site. No that I live alone again, I am interested in being re-activated but I cannot do as much as I had been doing before, since I work harder now. You may still ask for accommodation or just to meet up.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Positive in general terms, as it seems in my friends' and references' area.
However, in the past I have had some unpleasant experience also with people who were not descent at all and were doing their very best to have also free food from me, in addition to the free accommodation. I have been trying to be more careful with my choices afterwards and I think it worked.
After my absence period, I see that the system has added some functions to quantitatively register requests, acceptance and refusal answers. This should not mean that it is polite enough to cancel an agreement for accommodation just by pressing a button one day before, but as I see now, I am afraid some people have started to act like that.

兴趣

theatre acting and watching (and a couple of translations too),reading books,watching movies,discovering the truth behind the TV news, bee-keeping,foreign languages, some gymnastics. I am not doing all this currently.

I want to share knowledge about what happens in my country and learn about other countries: society, working environment, history, politics... I am also interested in practising foreign languages (French, Dutch, Italian) and willing to help other people with Greek.
