About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet fun people and make contacts for little trips I take
ABOUT ME
I'm pretty new to the south and I have been enjoying mild winters, crawfish, and the live music and arts scene that makes Baton Rouge fun. I play the horn (aka French Horn) and I love being a musician! I love being a musician so much that I am working on my Doctorate at LSU right now! I also like to travel, when I get the opportunity to play horn and travel together I am in heaven! In fact, I recently lived the dream when I traveled around China for a month with a pops orchestra. Quite often if I am surfing I will also have my horn with me, so be prepared for some music making!
PHILOSOPHY
Live life, have fun, enjoy the ride, and no drama.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love Baton Rouge, and there is so much to do here, which kind of surprised me, actually. Often times I am busy with school or work, but I always find something to do with my down time, and I'm always happy to have a new friend to experience these things with me! All requests will need to be approved by my room mate, but I'm happy to meet with you if you are in town for a brief time and want some one to hang with, and if you like live music, I'll either be playing a concert or going to one, so come along!
In my travels I would like to stay with people when I take auditions so I have a nice place to stay, and someone to go out with after the audition either to celebrate my win or to toast my failure (and talk about how it wasn't meant to be, lol). Don't worry, auditions are not like looking for a job, they only last a day or two, they are scheduled at least a month in advance, and if I win the job I would come back a few months later to set up shop, so I would not be lolligagging about without a plan.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Sadly, I did most of my international traveling before I knew of couchsurfing, but over the last couple of years I have been hosted, and have been a host to others and I haven't had a bad experience yet!
My first time being hosted I was going to Australia (also my first time to Australia) and I had some one set up who bailed on me last minute! Luckily there was a family I had contacted around the same time who were still available, and they were awesome hosts! So I was really nervous at first, but the people in this CS family are really all cool, so there should always be some one to help you out!
Interests
Live music, any genre as long as it's good. Going to the beach, but not swimming, riding my bike or rollerblading, and drinking margaritas (yummy!!)

Music, Movies, and Books
I really like super hero movies, even if they suck. Count of Monte Cristo is the #1 best book ever, but the movie was so bad it makes me angry. I love pretty much all music, but I particularly like classical, and Eastern European folk music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most amazing thing I've done: Hang gliding, by far the most amazing experience of my life!
Most random thing I've done: Going with my Mom to a performance art show that was under the Waterloo train station and instead of just seeing the show we were security guards!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have come to learn that no matter how much you whittle down your luggage you always end up with too much, but still needing a sweater or a different pair of shoes!
Also, always check out the free local papers there's always something cool and random going on in big cities, hopefully you can catch it!
