ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Arjae.

Originally from the Philippines, based in Singapore, 5 years and counting.

Working as a Recruiter on my day job; a dance teacher on weeknights; and a dance student on weekends. A passionate dancer, a member for a dance company here in Singapore.

I'm a friendly guy, likes to meet people and has a smile to give to everyone. Petite guy, warm smile, big heart.

Some random stuff:
Coffee lover.
I love food. Well, who doesn't?
Pastas, chocolates, various desserts (would love to try local ones from other countries), pizzas (comfort food), french toasts, Eggs Benedict, grilled chicken (I prefer chicken breast though), mangoes (both green and yellow ones).
A Greek mythology reader. Enjoys Egyptian mythology too!
Movies! Especially horror (not gory ones, though) and psychological thrillers. I do enjoy all of them, from animation to indie ones.
Likes having a nice Friday evening with friends or even staying in at home, enjoying series and movies on my laptop. A nice evening out for drinks is also good.
I conduct dance classes with my students once a week, and take classes from my teacher as well. A never ending learner.
Saturdays are mainly allotted for company dance classes. Sundays are meant for tons and tons of sleep.

Traveling? Oh yeah. I love to see places, experience cultures and talk to people to gain perspectives on life and everything else. From touristy to none-touristy ones.

Now, my goal is travel around and dance. Share my passion with people, dancer or not. Ever since I've been introduced to Oriental Dance, it has given me so much avenue to learn, grow and meet amazing teachers and dancers. I'm into Egyptian raqs sharqi and its folkloric dances.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

First encountered CS when a friend of mine took me to a beach volleyball game (Yes, Norita, you!) when I met awesome bunch of people. Got to know more about couchsurfing and tried it first time in Bali, Indonesia. I've been participating in various events such as the beach volley, monthly dinners and weekly meetings. It's really a good place to build connections and meet more people.

Muzyka, filmy i książki

Music: Now, my playlist is all about Middle Eastern music, from the classical Egyptian orchestra, Arabic pop to the modern ones. I do enjoy all types of music, instrumentals to even dubstep. From oldie but goodie songs, to our current artists.

Books: I love reading about mythology, old cultures, psychology and of course, fiction. From Stephen King, Paulo Coehlo, John Green, Mitch Albom, Rick Riordan, to name a few. I'm still building up my own library and I want to get a new book every month.

Movies: Listing them all here would be much but I generally enjoy most of them.
