I am new to CS and very much looking forward to the experience.

Now a bit about myself.

Coming from a conservative middle-class family, I had done very little travelling till my early 20s. Even the ones I had were "the 10-day itinerary packed into a 6-day schedule" kind of trips.

In 2015, a year into my first job, I combined all my leaves for a one-month solo travel around India. This was a month of many firsts for me -- including staying at a backpacker hostel, doing a Himalayan trek, having a beer with strangers and sharing stories, missing a train and doing on-the-spot troubleshooting, and having the realization that vacationing means taking a break and not sweating it out to visit every place on the list.

Since then, I have travelled quite a bit in India, and sporadically out of it. I have tried to be truthful towards my travel ambitions. I try to give priority to experiences when and where possible. And I am a strong believer of the philosophy:

Be kinder than necessary.

I think kindness is the most scarce asset on this planet. And as per the laws or economics, that makes it the most priceless.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

There are quite a few, but if I have to pick one, it would be this - on a himalayan trek I was among the 5 that summited in a group of 16. Due to an unexpected change in weather overnight, snow was too deep and certain sections appeared too dangerous. While most trekkers backed off, 5 of us moved on. I still don't know if it was brave it or downright stupid. In any case, we made all the way up and back to the camp in one piece, albeit completely wasted.

I love to teach. I have been associated with a few NGOs that were focused on training kids from economically and socially backward communities. I loved the time spent there and I believe the kids did too.
