About Me

I find empowerment and value in my life when I am of service to others. I try to see the best in people.

I love Kale, my cat, and the great outdoors.

I just completed my first six months as an elementary teacher and it's been busily amazing.

You should try things once, twice if you like them, and three times to make sure. There's never too little to share.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a different way of living where you share what you have whether it's space, time, respect, food, etc.

I prefer to host since my travel flexibility oftentimes comes off as poor planning. I try to be a graceful guest and host by being neat and unintrusive.

I have been to meetings, surfed, and hosted.

They change with the seasons. Lately it's been singing for hours and people watching. Not both at the same time though.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll listen to anything, maybe even dance to it- like Salsa and I'm a proud bad dancer.

I love reading, lately children's books for my class.

I enjoy places where they show independent films. Sometimes I don't even know what they are showing that night, it's just a good place to be.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I first heard about this when I was training to be a teacher: “Texas uses fourth grade reading scores to project the number of prison cells they’re going to need 10 years later.” -Forbes

I passed Statistics with a B when the professor honestly thought I wasn't even going to get past an F. I've never studied that hard in my life. Went from a 30% to 100% on my final exam, that B felt like gold!

I built my mom a big dinning table from Pintrest. Anything for mom.

When I rescued a plant, which I named Eric, from my mom's house since she kills them by accident and often. I took it to my dorm with about two little leaves and it got so big I had to get a bigger pot.

Teach, Learn, Share

I grew up in the seldom seen but hotly debated US-Mexico borderland. I also can cook most Mexican foods and it'll actually taste good. Kale salad and burrito-rolling. Nail art and make up are as fun as watercolor and acrylic paints. Education is a social justice issue: zip code tends to determine the future success of a student.

What I Can Share with Hosts
