Hello! I am new to this stuff....mainly because I am always preaching to my students "stranger danger". I have some friends and colleagues who rave about this service and so I am going out on the limb and trying it out. I have summers free so I plan to do a lot more traveling....because on a teacher salary I cannot afford to travel much. With this type of service, I will be able to travel. Please know that I am a trustworthy, responsible person and respect peoples space/homes, as I would expect in return. The last time I went on a real vacation was back in 2010 when I backpacked Europe for 16 days. My kids are growing too fast and are less depend on me =( So I would like to venture out more during times when they don't have a crazy schedule during the summertime, which is like 2-3 weeks depends on what they're involved in. I have 3 kids (12 year old daughter(biological), 12 son year son and 17 year daughter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel any and everywhere for minimal cost because teaching doesn't allow me much wiggle room to afford a real vacation. I like meeting new people and learning about different cultures/ethnicity, languages, and world views. I am totally easy going and super responsible. I will def help out around the house in any way I can to make my stay less restrictive on your life as a host. I look forward to meeting you and your family. As I become more familiar with the process, I woud def like to meet people to travel abroad with and possibly host people in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really don't have a favorite genre of music because I will listen to anything that I can relate to. I like all types of movies....I like to watch B list films and international films that are sooooooo worthy of awards and recognition but we know its politics!! I am a fan of watching films about people from all over the world, just the experience of a world view outside of the US is a plus. Books/article/research I read are teacher related, special education issues and education in general, I do like reading books from different cultures(English version of course), but I rarely get a chance to read for enjoyment because I've been too busy grading papers.

I am a true believer that WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO CONTRIBUTE to this world. I don't see color, race, ethnicity, language, religion, sexual orientation as a divider in our society. Unfortunately, many people all over the world don't share this same view. My goal in life is to embrace all these differences because it is what makes our world such a beautiful place. Without all these differences in the world, we wouldn't be where we are today. All life is beautiful and precious and I am a true believer in respecting ALL PEOPLE and I value all that they have offer. WE ALL HAVE PURPOSE.
