Hola! My name is Arly. I was born in the US and am a first generation Mexican-American. I have always been intrigued by the hundreds of different peoples and cultures that exist in the world, that despite being on opposite ends of the planet, can have so much in common and yet, so much to learn from each other. As the first in my family to be born in the US, I never wanted to lose my Mexican heritage. Growing up, I have always felt like I belonged to two completely different but beautiful cultures. My objective is to learn and appreciate more the cultures of others.

I am currently studying Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia in Spain for the Spring
semester. My passion lies in sustainable energy and I hope to pursue that field for my Masters. As all aspiring engineers, I dream of making the world a better place and I hope to do that while inspiring young girls to pursue degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Frida, my Chihuahua-mix, named after my favorite artist, Frida Kahlo, is my little ball of happiness. I am a lover of all doggies, though. If you like dogs, as much as I do, I think we are going to be great friends.

My hobbies include Latin dancing and trying out new cafes everywhere I go. I can dance Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue but I particularly enjoy Bachata the most for it's romantic feel. My favorite coffee is a capuccino.

I love love love trying new foods and I also enjoy cooking my mom's traditional Mexican dishes. My favorite, of course, being tacos.

I am a lover of life and all things happy- "viva la vida."
