About Me

I'm currently teaching English at a couple schools in suburban Tokyo in Japan!

CURRENT MISSION

To show the world that in order to generate trust between strangers, you have to be the one to initiate it

ABOUT ME

I like to dance. I like to exercise. I like to read. I like food.

I like a lot of things so this profile can't really concisely sum up everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to promote the sharing economy and help out those who are not looking for fancy hotels but something more intimate and unassuming. I love sharing stories and experiences and getting an idea of the place I'm traveling to from the eyes of the locals! In addition, I'd like to give people the layout of where I currently live and give them tips on what to avoid/tourist traps/life-hacks/etc.

In other words, develop community and share information!

Interests

I dance hip-hop on a local team and impromptu while showering or cooking. I like to stay up-to-date on current events through various news sites and NPR. I love listening to podcasts while working out at the gym, simultaneously improving my mind and body. Lastly, I love to eat. I try to eat at a new restaurant every week.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like mostly hip-hop and R&B, but I'm pretty much open to anything.

For movies, I also have a wide variety of movies I like, but some of my favorites are almost all the Pixar movies, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mean Girls, Miyazaki movies, and countless others. I have a DVD collection you can check out.

For books, I read a lot of nonfiction spanning from race to gender to media. Some fiction books I've recently that I like are Brave New World, Flowers for Algernon, and Catch 22.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before I started Kindergarten, I memorized (thanks to my grandma) all the states in the US and the countries in the world...and their capitals. Some of that knowledge is still left over, but it's a bit rusty. It's actually not that amazing in context, but it's all I got!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some dance moves, English or Japanese (limited), strategies for SAT/ACT tests, or random math knowledge. I would love to learn about different cultures from different countries or even different states. I like learning about pretty much anything. And I can share a meal or two if you are hungry :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have some recommendations of places to eat here in my city as well as things to do. I can also provide a comfortable living space and any necessary accommodations that you need!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Spain, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Japan, United States
