About Me

For me, travel isn’t about the most “Instagrammable” spot or the most popular place to eat and drink. It’s about feeling like I actually live there, even for a short time. That usually means meeting locals, wandering the side streets they walk every day, spending time in a neighborhood pub where they sip their beer, or finding a hidden little restaurant corner and asking the waiter what pairs best with a good glass of wine. The world belongs to all of us, and I love being a “familiar guest” in your city.

About me: I’m basically a mechanical engineer. After working in oil & gas, I moved into factory construction. Because of the countries and projects I’ve lived through, I’ve started mornings in the middle of the desert and ended nights under the glow of city lights. I miss each experience in its own way, and I keep walking whatever road is in front of me. I’m currently in Debrecen, Hungary and I’ll be around for a while. If you’re passing through, I’m just a message away, whether you’re looking for a place to stay or someone to explore the city with.

As a “retired party animal,” I now enjoy calmer, more satisfying things: long walks, great coffee, local pubs (especially with live jazz/blues), photography, and getting lost in the city with good music in the background.

I’ve known Couchsurfing since my university years and it has given me some amazing experiences. I’ve met great people in a community built on cultural exchange, good conversations, and mutual respect. I’m here to keep that adventure and the network growing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because the best way to experience a city is through its people. I’m here for cultural exchange, genuine conversations, and mutual respect — sometimes to host, sometimes to surf, and often to meet for coffee, a walk, or a local pub and share the city like locals do.

I’m also starting a personal project: I want to spend (almost) every weekend somewhere new — following art, artists, history, and everyday life. Sometimes it’ll be spontaneous, sometimes planned, but the idea is the same: from Friday to Monday, to feel like a local for a couple of days. I’m excited to meet people who can share their experiences, point me to the hidden corners, and recommend the places that don’t show up on tourist lists.

Interests

Curiosity has always pushed me onto the road: I explored parts of Turkey by bike and much of it by hitchhiking. I’ve spent days in an abandoned factory building my startup, and wandered the streets for short film projects. I drove across Saudi Arabia, and yes, I even got stuck in the desert sand many times. I used to play as a DJ at techno parties, and I’ve backpacked around Thailand and Indonesia. I’ve had moments like running into wild boars while camping, or feeling that open-sea “I might drown” fear… but the common thread is this: I like experiencing life in a real way, safely, but fully and I’m still exploring.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversations, a respectful vibe, and local-style hangouts. I’m happy to cook a simple meal, bring coffee/snacks, or treat you to a wine/beer. I also love city and photography walks and swapping playlists.
