About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get to know the world and work out the perfect tomatoe sauce recipe.

ABOUT ME

I am a curious person and like to have good conversations about the world. But also I like to be quiet and observe or simply do nothing. I grew up in former East Berlin and spent some time in Australia, Wagga Wagga, which was a very nice contrast to Berlin (mostly weather wise).

PHILOSOPHY

I think it's nice to live relaxed, but still achieve your goals. I like to get to know a lot of things and also to stand up against injustice.
I like the feeling to get to know someone, whom you thought you didn't like and then do like him. Then you realize how similar all people are and that we all actually quite often want the same basic things from life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not used it before. But I was on a language group meeting here in Berlin which was nice. It's so good to be able to get to know all sorts of people from all around this earth. My plan is to travel in summer and stay at "other couches". Before that it'll be nice to help people out and get to know some.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no experiences with couchsurfing. But quite often friends from other countries stayed with me, or friends of friends and it was always good.

Interests

Friendly people, good talks, literature, music (guitar), films, "hippie culture", hacky sack, juggling (would be great to meet someone who can show me how to handle 5 balls), swimming, going out in nature, walking in mountains, festivals

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Curtis Mayfield, Tool, Reel Big Fish, Muddy Waters, Blues Brothers, Ottis Redding, Sam & Dave, Fleet Foxes, Metallica, The Prodigy, Paul Kalkbrenner, Cypress Hill, Lauryn Hill.

Literature: I love Robert Merle. I think his books go deep but are so light and humerous at the same time. Heinrich Böll, Stefan Zweig. Bulgakow, Terry Pratchett, Jack London, Robert Anton Wilson, Poe, Roald Dahl.

Films: Taxi Driver, The Life Aquatic, Easy Rider, The name of the rose, The Big Lebowski, all Werner Herzog movies, Ghost Dog

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I returned from Australia with 17 I stayed at friends' places for 3 months, because my flat was rented to somebody else. I lived from my backpack and felt so free. First I thought: How is this going to work out, but it was so great. I realized how little one needs and how nice it is to be in contact with people. Australia was great too, the ocean, the dessert, the kakngaroos.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a bit about yoga, I can tell you lots about East Berlin and the history of the two Germanys and my tomatoe sauce.
