Hi!

My name is Arno, I'm 23 years old and currently travelling. I recently graduated my masters in medicine back in Belgium. Instead of starting work or a residency, I've been saving up and decided to see a bit of the world first, starting with the United States. I like to mix it up a bit, visiting some major cities as well as getting out into nature and exploring off the beaten path.

The best experiences travelling are rarely a certain place or activity, but usually the people you meet. I enjoy learning about other people's stories, it always inspires me to keep on doing my own thing as well. Couchsurfing seems to me like the best way to get in contact with like minded people, and honestly, it's easy on my wallet too.

兴趣

Travelling is probably number one. I enjoy seeking out challenges, which is why I'm travelling solo at the moment. Besides that i'm somewhat of a movie buff, even when away from home I'll have a hard drive filled with movies with me.
When travelling I enjoy hiking and camping, I've done some moderate long distance hikes in Europe and am planning on hiking the John Muir Trail in September. Back home I like to go jogging, swimming, and I even have a skydiving license. I'm also always interested in learning new recipes, as I'm looking to expand my cooking skills beyond traditional Belgian cuisine (which isn't all that interesting to begin with). Recently got into crocheting for a bit but alas, I had no room left in my backpack for yarn.

I can't really go anywhere without music, it's like the background music to my life. I mainly listen to rock, indie and alternative music. Current favorite bands include Weezer, The Kooks, Jon Bellion, The Cure, Florence and the Machine, and Vance Joy.
Favorite movies include: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Interstellar, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and whatever Marvel is putting out.
Books: I'm one of those people who wants to read more but whose reading activity peaked as a teenager with Harry Potter. Currenly reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series for the first time. (Other suggestions also welcome).
