About Me

بنی آدم اعضای یکدیگرند / که در آفرینش ز یک گوهرند!

Hi. I'm Arsalan ( ˈɑːr.sə.lɑːn ), born in 2003 in Iran. My hometown is Kashan, one of the world’s oldest cities, with over 8000 years of civilization at the Sialk Hills, among the earliest known settlements in human history.

I know Kashan by heart—from its historic landmarks to its hidden gems. If I’m in the city when a Couchsurfer visits, I’m always happy to share my knowledge, or even join them to explore together. For me, it’s about generosity, connection, and creating meaningful memories in my hometown.

My greatest passion is traveling the world—exploring different cultures, meeting people from every corner of the globe, and discovering the human stories that connect us all. For me, travel is not only about places, but about meaningful encounters and shared experiences.

I truly enjoy connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. Wherever I am, I’m always open to conversations about culture, history, and life, guided by curiosity and respect.

If you'd like to know more about me, feel free to check the references on my Couchsurfing page — where you’ll find honest impressions from people who’ve met me.

⚠️ I truly respect the LGBTQ+ community, but I am NOT gay and I'm not part of it myself — with all due respect, If you're one of them, please do NOT message me, as you'll be just wasting your time. I’m only mentioning this because some people use CS to look for sexual partners, and that’s not what I’m here for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A question has always stayed with me: If there's a God, why was I created? What’s the purpose of my existence?
Why am I here—on this planet, for such a short time—and how should I spend it?

I haven't found the answer yet. But I believe that by traveling the world, facing its challenges, and meeting people from all walks of life, I might get closer to it.

Couchsurfing feels like a bridge in that journey—connecting souls, stories, and ideas in ways no travel agency or government ever could. For that, I’m grateful.

Interests

I enjoy connecting with people who share similar goals and philosophies. Traveling is my way of exploring different cultures and lifestyles around the world, and it’s something I’m passionate about.

In my free time, you’ll often find me indulging in hobbies like playing the guitar, reading, having interesting conversations, playing backgammon, hiking, or simply enjoying an adventure in the woods or camping. It’s these little moments that truly enrich my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my hometown in Iran, there’s a stunning salt cave that’s over 70 million years old — one of the longest in the world, stretching 14 kilometers. Although the government has restricted access beyond the first 1,200 meters, I had visited the cave several times with CS friends and always respected the limit.

But one day, I decided to push past my fear — and the fence. I kept walking deep into the cave, alone, through narrow, dangerous paths. Eventually, I reached a steep valley and turned back. That journey felt surreal, like stepping into a time machine and landing millions of years in the past. For a moment, I truly felt like the only human on Earth. 😅

You can see some photos of that cave on my CS profile.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If my host has a guitar, I’d be happy to play a few tunes, or we can chill with a game of backgammon. And if they enjoy deep conversations about philosophy, travel, politics, history, religion, or anything interesting, I’m always up for a meaningful chat — as far as my knowledge goes.

If they prefer something lighter, we can just take a walk, explore beautiful spots around town, or do anything that makes good memories. I’m flexible and always respect my host’s preferences and boundaries.

I’m also a hardworking person. If my host needs a hand with anything, I’m happy to help as much as I can. For example, when I was in Türkiye, I stayed with a wonderful host named Mustafa. He was incredibly kind and helpful, and I did my best to help him too — including assisting with moving his home and furniture over a few days.
