Hey there! My name is Artem. I am 32 years old, married. Professionally, I am a specialist in the Chinese language and Chinese history. Originally, I come from Ulan-Ude (the Republic of Buryatia), which is about 120 km away from the world famous lake Baikal. This is where I was born and raised, and also received my professional training, first, at Buryat State University, and subsequently, at the Institute of Mongol, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies. Currently, I live and work in Ufa - a major city in the South Urals region of Russia. I work for a Chinese company here and as such aim at developing Russian-Chinese businesses in Bashkortostan. In terms of hobby and free time, I love to spend spare time with my kids (I have a son and a daughter), travelling (I have quite rich experience of travelling round the globe), learning foreign languages (I am studying Korean now), driving (I intend to organize a motor rally to China this year).

I am new on the Couchsurfing, even though I have heard a lot about it. Basically, there are two reasons why I am here. First, social networking, meeting up opportunities and finding accomodation. I am eager to meet new folk here, chat, hang out and, in case need be, find a host in one of the new cities or countries I will be bound for. Second, as a social scholar I am driven by some sort of sociological-anthropological curiosity. So much interested in analysing peoples'ways and practices - and the program seems to provide a good insight and offer ample material about that)))

I married and have two children - this can explain a lot about my lifestyle and interests at present))) I love sleep, silence and searching-for-my-lost-socks. I am kidding, of course.
