About Me

Hi
We are Arthur and Mia from Germany and finished high school in the summer of 2025. Right now we’re doing a gap year which we are spending travelling and volunteering in different projects as a couple. Since September we’ve been to three European Solidarity Corps projects, two in Greece and one in Cyprus. A really great aspect of the projects for us is meeting new people from all over Europe and the world. We are especially interested in projects related to different aspects of environmental protection and sustainability. For example two of the projects were about eco-building techniques and living in eco-communities. Also travelling as sustainable as possible (meaning whenever possible by train and bus) is an extremely important part of our travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are part of couch surfing, because the idea is very appealing to us.
It’s a very cost-efficient way of travelling that gives us the awesome opportunity of meeting lovely people from all over the world who are kind enough to host strangers in their homes. We are hoping to form connections with many different people while also saving money:)
When travelling to an unknown country or city it’s of course also great to stay with someone who can introduce us to the new environment surrounding us and give us advice what to visit, where to go, what to do and what not to do. Furthermore staying with a local allows us to gain a much deeper and more detailed insight into the culture and the way of life in this part of the world.
