About Me

My name is Arthur BERT. I am born in 1990.
I always lived in New-Caledonia but my family comes from France, my parents are from Paris. But I have got some Indian and Vietnamese origins.
Thanks to my parents I have traveled a lot when I was younger. I still like to travel and I want to see the world.
I grow up in Bourail, a little town in New Caledonia close nature and the ocean. It should be one of the reasons I love plants and be outside.
I completed most of my studies in New Caledonia until my bachelor of management and economics in 2011. After that I have been to Paris to do a master degree in Environment and Energies Economics. I graduated in 2014.
From that I came back to New-Caledonia where I worked in the waste management, in the agriculture and at the end in landscaping.
After more than 4 years without travel abroad I am going to Japan for 2 weeks and to France for few months to do woofing.
When I will come back I surely will continue to work in agriculture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet locals and share with them and so to know Osaka deeper.
To have another perspective and live a new form of tourist experience.
For me coutchsurfing is more than just staying with people, it’s about being part of a community and when I will come back home in New-Caledonia, I want to become a host in turn.
Be sure that I will be respectful, clean, tidy, and I will follow any rules set by you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This weekend I have been to the Ouvéa’s atoll close New Caledonia . On the main island, there are some big blue holes with water in it. The water is connected to the sea so turtles and fishes can come in. It is a bit tricky to pull of the hole when you jump in but I did it and it was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like hiking, to climb summits and appreciate the view from the top. To be in the clouds, in the forest and to feel the nature’s purity. I would like to take a moment during my trip to it around Osaka, like Ishikiri Station Zushidani Hike, Minoh - Bokaioka – Unrindai…

I worked in landscaping and I am curious to discover the beauty of the Japanese parks like the RYOKUCHI park for instance or the one you prefer 

I like art in all its forms. I like drawing and making things with my hands. I would like to visit the Koji Kinutani Tenku Art Museum or on of the art museums in Osaka.
I like the origamis and it would be a pleasure to learn with you if you know how.

I like to take pictures when I discover new landscape or when I see something beautiful.

I like cooking since I am young and for me it’s another way to let his creativity express itself. I like everything and I m ready to discover new meals. I know Osaka’s food is famous in Japan and in the word so I m really excited to discover it.
