I am here to meet people whilst traveling; to experience cultures, music, food and the attractions of various cities and regions. I am reasonably well-traveled, but there are so many more countries I wish to visit. I feel that the couch surfing option is a far better one than hotels and hostels, guest-houses and b&b's, because one stays with and mixes with locals who are better-placed to provide valuable input to a visit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel that it is both an economic decision and one that adds better value to a visit, because one is staying with a local to the area visited and from that, it is expected that a better experience of the place visited will result from a couch-surfing stay.
I have hosted couch-surfers over the past 10 years (through a partner who is a member) but have not yet made use of the opportunity whilst traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love jazz (as long as it is good genuine jazz), I enjoy the indigenous music of many countries, such as African and South American music. In fact, I enjoy most genres of music as long as it is "good" music. I enjoy action movies, documentaries, thrillers (James Bond series, Oceans series, Bourne series) and many others. I enjoy theatre and dance too. My favourite authors are: Hemingway, Dan Brown, JD Salinger, Steinbeck, Michener, Wilbur Smith, Nadine Gordimer, Ayn Rand and many others.

Amongst others, I am a mentor and a qualified coach and I provide professional skills development services in project management and some related fields.
I learn all the time and am always supplementing my knowledge base with additional skills and knowledge.
I am a good-natured and warm-hearted person who shares, cares and assists others to the best of my ability.

I can share my vast knowledge, can reciprocate generosity, can cook a mean dish and can share my many experiences and my culture.
