About Me

I've never liked the idea of writing "who I am" or "about me" in a few words, as it seems absurdly reductionist and I honestly find it hard to believe in the possibility of being able to describe your being in words. I know this is all foolishness and I'm exaggerating, but I prefer to write this before anything else, this way, I feel more comfortable with myself hahahhhaha

I was born in Brazil, but I've lived in Venezuela since I was little. My mother was born in Colombia, and my father in Sao Tome and Principe... Perhaps because of this mix of origins, I've always felt I'm from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

I like to read, play sports, watch movies, and travel. Specifically, I'm meticulously selective when it comes to books and movies, since beyond art itself, I enjoy expressing and connecting with the essence of life through any medium.

I graduated with a degree in economics and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in economics and an undergraduate degree in mathematics. That may sound like something from someone deeply interested in the world of business and finance, but that's not the case. I studied these mostly for fun and, contradictory as it may seem, I'm not a fan of academia or institutions. I'm undoubtedly completely drawn to the artistic side of life, but I'm very reluctant to adhere to the regulations that frame our society.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to create a Couchsurfing account because I genuinely believe it can be part of good experiences and, at the same time, help when traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

**Books**
I really like Kundera's novels, not his essays.

Generally I enjoy novels with tendencies toward magical realism or absurdism.

Of all the arts, It's where I find myself most.

**Music**
From blues to electronica. I try to explore any genre and connect with music beyond categories. As I write this, California Dreamin', Cantares by Joan Manuel Serrat and a distorted bass line from some rap are playing in my mind.

**Movies**
Like music, I try to explore all genres and eras. The last two films I watched at the time of writing this were Fallen Angels and Du Levande.
