About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn more about myself with other people.
Fulfilling one of my dreams: a long trip through Southeast Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar)
ABOUT ME
I was born in Rio de Janeiro and thanks to my parents I had the opportunity to travel a lot since my first years, especially in Brazil. I became kind of addicted to it.
I'm a journalist, so I tend to be curious about everything. And I just love to hear a good story! It kind of feels like eating something very good that I've never tasted before. I also love food!
In 2013, I came to live in Paris with my girlfriend, Luna. We both came here to study, her in political studies and I in human rights. Now that our time here has ended, we decided to travel for a while before going back to Brazil.
PHILOSOPHY
Ubuntu
“A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed.”
Desmond Tutu
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it allows me to travel better and more, stimulating a stronger connection with the places I go and the people I meet.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted several surfers in my apartment in Rio de Janeiro, mostly in 2011. I also surfed a bunch of couches myself, especially in Europe and in Argentina.
It's been a while since I don't travel using Couchsurfing or that I don't host people. I really miss it!
Interests
Photography. I did some freelance work as a photojournalist, but I'm mostly an amateur photographer. Here's my website with some of my favourite images: http://a2passos.net
Politics and Human Rights. It's one of my favourite subjects and I love to talk about it. If you start asking me questions about Brazilian or Latin American politics, I can literally spend hours on this. So be careful!
Movies. I have no filter whatsoever, I can watch (and like) everything from super hero and apocalyptic movies to classics and experimental ones. But I especially love documentaries and science-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being in love
In 2012, I traveled during three months for more than 12.000 Km through isolated areas of central and north Brazil. The idea was to document the different perspectives on what the notion of "development" or "progress" means for a diversity of social groups. We (three friends and me) stopped in ecovillages, indigenous, rural and alternative communities, landless workers movements camps and national parks and reserves to interview and write about a wide range of issues. It was an amazing experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you somethings about photography I guess. And I most certainly can help you practice Portuguese or French if you want to.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook! Well, I mean, I'm not a Chef, but I definitely like to prepare and eat food!
I also can share travel stories, and especially tips if you are going to South America or Brazil.
