About Me

Preparing to experience the world as best I can.

An old friend of mine, when we parted ways for the last time, said to me, "You're not a person; you're an experience." You can interpret that how you like, but I am definitely a little bit different, but not in a bad way. Depending on the situation, I can eccentric and outgoing - dancing and singing songs from Disney musicals - or I can be contemplative, poetic, and downright philosophical. (Also, my mom thinks I'm cool!) I have a vagabond heart, I am easygoing with people, and I live for the experience.

I am a "mental hedonist" if that makes any sense. I love feeding my mind - with knowledge, with wisdom, with culture, with experience. As such, I don't regret anything I've seen or done (even if I regretted them at the time). In a sense, the more I know, the more I grow.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

While I unfortunately have no space to share myself (I'm almost couchsurfing myself), I am more than happy to help out any in the Bay Area with tips on things to do. Until, that is, I leave on my own adventure.

None yet, but I look forward to them! :)

I am lucky enough to explore two of my interests - marketing and video games - in my day job. Outside of that, I love, above all else, thinking and creating. I am constantly coming up with new ideas for stories and enjoy sharing them. I also enjoy reading, exploring, animals, and generally being a part of the world.

Music, Movies & Books

On the music side, I tend to enjoy (or at least appreciate) most styles, though I find I tend to find myself listening to instrumental and choral most of the time. For books, I tend to either enjoy informative-yet-entertaining reads (think Bill Bryson), historical fiction, or classics. On the movie side, I find my favorites are all romanticized epics (Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, etc).

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Plucking a fresh guava off a tree, and eating it while astride a horse standing at the top of a lush green mountain overlooking both forest and sea. More of an internal awe of what an amazing and natural moment that was.

The following day, I swan within two feet of a sea turtle nearly as big as me. That was also pretty cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

While some of my friends and coworkers call me a human encyclopedia, I teach best in a Q&A format, so feel free to ask me anything! :)
