About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm an easy going, laid back kinda guy. any more laid back and i'd be comatose. black sense of humour. gay. questionable dress sense, but i always get the shoes right, mostly.
I'm a civil engineer (a profession I've never been completely sold on). But it's served me well in funding my foreign adventures. In recent times I've managed to wriggle my way into more environmental spheres of the industry, which aligns better with my values and helps me get a good night's sleep.
PHILOSOPHY
I've done a fair bit of travelling over the last 10 or so years (and still a lot more to do!) and even in the early days as a naive but wide-eyed backpacker i was amazed at the hospitality and helpfulness of complete strangers. People who owed me nothing would go out of their way to help me on my way, with offerings of food, accommodation, company or simply some helpful directions. I'm always looking out for people to whom I can repay the favour. If I can assist you with advice via this blog, or by meeting up somewhere along the way, it will make my day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never used the CS network before. My friend told me about it and I thought it would be a great way to learn about the places I travel to, make my trip more memorable and hopefully make new friends.
I'm off to Vietnam soon and will be looking for some good human(s) to show me a great time.
Interests
Music and travel are my two biggest kicks.
I'm keen on exploring foreign cultures, music, customs, beliefs, food and history. I also love, but don't get enough of, the great outdoors. Always keeping an eye out for the next Tawny frog-mouth or Gang-gang cockatoo and will stop for a breath-taking rocky escarpment.
I'm a bit of a music tragic. Will give anything a listen. Always up for a gig. Dabble in a bit of noise making, but far from being a "musician".
