Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking forward to attending CS events in Singapore.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once joined one of my friends for a CS meetup in Singapore and met some really great people.

I also happened to meet Weston Hankins (3rd employee of CS) when he was in Singapore and learned about CS values and philosophy. I believe in the idea of mutual respect between people from different cultures and that's a big part of why I chose to join this community.

Interests

I am passionate about entrepreneurship and social activism. I feel all of us have the collective responsibility to create a better world. So I do my best to be the change I want to see in the world.

I spend most of my time working because I love my work. "By and far the best reward that life has to offer is to do work that is worth doing."

I also enjoy travelling and connecting with people from all over the world. I believe in looking at similarities between people rather than differences.

I love running and enjoying playing sports like tennis, soccer and squash.

Shawshank Redemption

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Growing up I always feared public speaking. One day I had an epiphany, in order to get better at public speaking, I had to put myself in uncomfortable position of speaking in front of crowds. From that day onwards I did a lot of public speaking and I before I knew it, I got pretty good. From then on, I have loved the feeling of punching fear in its face.

I spent a year in Silicon Valley in 2007 and it was a defining time for me. I got the opportunity to brush shoulders with some great inventors, entrepreneurs and business leaders of our times. Their passion was infectious. I was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. Since, then I have worked on my own startup projects aimed at making world a better place than we found it.

Some projects I am currently involved with are - www.giveasia.org, www.ourbetterworld.org
