Dlaczego jestem na Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Will anyone surf Mission? I hope so. I'll host when I can, and I like meeting new people, especially other people who like meeting new people, so I'll definitely surf.

I try and host couch surfers whenever I can. My stories are always advocating CS and urging everyone I meet to be a part of it. Why would you travel somewhere just to look at landmarks? To me, traveling is learning, connecting with others across lines of difference, building friendships!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wonderful and weird. From mansions to "Did I tell you I don't have a home? Can I stay in your hostel with you? " From meeting fellow Nebraskans in different corners of the world to having conversations in Spanish (which I am still very much learning, not very much mastered!)...

The people are always the best part of the place.

How else can I meet Nebraskans in Arizona? How else to meet a couple biking across Asia, my dream! Life-affirming wonder--meeting people and living hours in their lives. How else to get incredible guest speakers into my classroom? People who have lived in Switzerland? People who are walking across country?

D.C. or South Dakota, Peru or India, yes. Hosting in Omaha, Pittsburgh, South Dakota, yes.

I have ridden my bike across Nebraska 9 times. And across the country twice. Faked a broken leg. Skydived. Met a ghost. Saved a buffalo from a prairie fire. And only one of those is a lie!

I bike. I paint and knit and write. Cartwheel. If I stay with you, or if you stay with me, you might be taking home a poem or a picture to magnet to your fridge. I also make balloon animals!I so want to rock climb and be introduced to new places! Also, languages. I can teach goose latin and pig latin, but would like to barnacle anything I can from you, Spanish, Quecha, French, Japanese, anything...
