Hello! My name's Ashe (pronounced Ash)!

About me-- I'm super excited about fresh perspectives and the many ways they can be evoked. I'm a big art lover, all kinds. I'm an art generalist my day job, making digital paintings and other things for a videogame studio near Seattle, Washington so I love to get my hands on whatever medium I can. Recently I've been indulging a growing hobby of photography so I'd love to see odd sights on this trip. You know, interesting shapes, lighting, people, colors, backstories, perspectives, you get it. I'm not particular-- landscapes, crumbling ruins, weird shit, portraits, or whatever are all fun, as long as it isn't loaded with tourists or the same old landmarks everyone sees. My goal is to take cool pictures of places I didn't know existed or cast a new lens on places I did. More importantly than that, it's to meet new people! It's awesome how many people I've met or weird circumstances I've found myself in just because I have a decent camera on my side. By the by-- if any of you know of any ruins/abandoned places, festivals, or general oddities you'd want to explore with me or want your portrait taken, let me know! I'm open to ideas.

It's not just about art, though! On this trip I want to go snowboarding, paragliding, skydiving, and who knows what else.

I hit up Europe last December and learned a lot about myself during that trip- namely if there's something I don't know a whole lot about or decided I don't like, why is that? Did I really have a good reason? There are an infinite number of topics that people build their whole lives around- I never have a reason to be bored if I can shift my perspective to that of other people. I'm excited about new experiences and want to cram as many into my life as possible while not fretting where I'm going to find them. If you're not careful plans can become stressful, which is why I'm waiting until a month before my trip this year to really plan it, lmao.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

The people I've met while traveling have fundamentally changed my take on the world and I hope I can do the same for them. In a perfect world, I'd love to hit up every country on the planet before I die and doing so while staying in a sterile hotel room doesn't seem right to me- that's not where stories are made. I want to see the world how strangers see it and would rather offer up my home to friends I make traveling than make them spend money on a room.

I'm happy to share what I know about art and the game industry or the tech field in general. I've had a number of eclectic art related jobs in the past that I can share knowledge about, too. I like to spew out dad-like factoids and jokes and am incredibly fun to make fun of, so if you need an American to throw under the bus then I'm your man.

I can take a lot of pictures of you or your pet(s). Or bird. Or neighbor if that's what you're into, but I'll need to get them to agree with it. Shouldn't be too hard, just gotta figure out what they want. Hmm...I also draw pretty cool pictures of whatever, can do chores, or help carry you/your pet(s) up flights of stairs. You can take me to parties and I'll draw attention to myself when things get awkward with that girl/guy/nongendered-person you like then you can punch me in the face to look like the hero. I can also teach your town how to dance poorly. Or sing poorly.
