ABOUT ME

I like to think I am James Bond, but really, who can be as awesome as Sean Connery? Gardening, reading, and camping are some of my favorite things. People often think of me as a teacher, but I like to think that teaching has more to do with inspiring.

The skill of teaching comes from the ability to create a mutual understanding between two individuals through which information can be shared, and more importantly, understood. These relationships are the bedrock of what I seek to do. Cultural knowledge is implicitly gained from birth. To me, exploring the intricacies of others is paramount to creating a successful society.

Interests

Life perpetually amazes me. There are so many permutations surrounding it. I am working on experiencing it as much as I can, as such, I count all of the outdoors as a hobby. Hiking, camping, biking, surfing are all activities that I love. I also enjoy cooking, the more than occasional beer or glass of wine, learning, and working on classic cars.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I grew up with a group of 8 friends. We do everything together, and have been on many special trips throughout the United States, British Virgins Islands, and locally in California.

I have experienced everything from fly fishing with a retired fire fighter chief in Montana, to sailing in the Caribbean with them. Every moment that we have shared on these trips has left me amazed with the world. It is such a unique and beautiful thing that we all share. Learning to appreciate that fact has brought me to believe that everything is awesome. I love every minute of my life.
