ABOUT ME

Hullo. I am an exchange student from Australia who is currently residing in Oulu, Finland. I enjoy happiness, as everyone does I guess. But I find it difficult to do anything that doesn't make me happy. Eg: a subject lecturer wants me to read a book on commerce - why would I do that? I wouldn't. Because it doesn't make me happy. I live my whole life by this philosophy, and it makes me a frighteningly happy and spontaneous person. I dance around alot, and find it difficult to take anything very seriously - which makes me a nightmare to employ, but entertaining to hang around.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess my life philosophy has never really changed. I remember when I was in the 8th grade, all of my teachers called a big scary conference to discuss my schoolwork, with me in the center of a room full of teachers. They were asking me why I was refusing to do any of my maths work. I shuffled awkwardly in my seat and I told them this:

"because it doesn't make me happy"

back then I couldn't understand why I would do anything that didn't make me happy, and that hasn't changed. So I live to travel, to dance, to laugh and to love.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am away from Melbourne, and imagine that I will be for quite some time. People are more than welcome to crash at my house in Oulu, although all I can really offer is one flimsy sofa and a blanket. But I would be more than willing to tell you what I know of the town, and teach you incredibly, incredibly bad Finnish. OR good english. Take your pick!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don't really have much couchsurfing experience at all! I have informally (that is, not through CS), hosted a bunch of people around Melbourne who I have met through friends and whatnot, and I LOVED every minute of it. There is seriously nothing better in the world than sharing stories, singing, dancing, and laughing. That's what I hope CS will bring to the table for me :)

Mostly rap and indie? I dont know if that's a fashionable word anymore. Maybe I should ask Pitchfork. I also read books and watch movies. But I don't really know what listing them will achieve! I can promise you that we will probably have books and movies in common that we both enjoy :)

Lying out on a frozen lake last week in Oulu, drinkin' dark whiskey and watching the Northern Lights. That was, pretty great.

I speak an appalling brand of french that is utterly worthless in any conversational context. But still, I can teach it to you if you would like. My dancing is equally bad.
