I'm currently living in Amsterdam on a work assignment. Arrived in September and will be here just under a year. It's a great city and fun when not working, but I'm also still learning it. So many neighborhoods and places to explore that it's difficult to know where to start. Thought it might be fun to explore with travelers visiting as well.
Please note that my apartment is really only capable of hosting 1 person at a time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met a person surfing in Asheville, and it made me want to give it a shot when I travel as well. So far I've been hosted in Paris and Caen, France, and have met up with other surfers, been to CS parties, and generally talked about what I'm doing to everyone I meet and know. I have hosted when without housemates as well.

Books: The Raw Shark Texts; Cat's Cradle; Rant--these are other recent reads. I really enjoy short fiction and have a few stories of my own posted on my blog. I need to add more, but I've been getting my creative needs met in other ways lately.

I've seen what the world looks like while hanging upside down by my ankles in a tree. I've seen water blow a hole in a damn 15 meters wide and 20 meters deep. I've seen laughter take the fight right out of a man.
