My mission is to not just be entertained, but to be fulfilled and to activate the more creative side of me. I want to face challenges while still being able to laugh, smile, and maintain my peace of mind

PHILOSOPHY

From time to time in Madrid, I'd ask myself “What the hell am I doing here right now?”
...and then I started to ask: “Why am I in this world—on this planet?” And I had no answer.

However, I realized that I can’t punish myself for having no answer. It’s not like I chose to be alive. Rather, life was given to me. All I can do is make the most of it!...that's not meant to be depressing, but empowering.

This world and our individual lives are filled with injustice and tragedy that we can’t ignore. But as humans, one of our greatest challenges is to be well-informed, vocal, and active---while still retaining ours senses of humor, creativity, and peace of mind.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

(Unfortunately, I can’t offer a couch right now because I'm in transition.
I have decided not to apply to graduate school or find a long-term job yet. I have a lot more learning to outside the classroom first.)

Right now, I can contribute by offering travel advice about NYC, Washington DC, and Madrid. I'd also like to use it as a resource as I formulate my upcoming travel plans.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I lived in Madrid, I used the social networking groups to participate in hikes, etc.
I also stayed with a wonderful woman in Bologna, Italy. I was so grateful to experience a deeper, more personal layer of the city.

I love Radiohead, Beirut, Beck, Dispatch, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Sublime, Phish, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Sumblime, and Bob Marley--to name a few.
A recent favorite book is Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.
