I adore travel, and in my opinion, couch surfing is the best way to do it. The only way to get a real feel for the place you're staying in is to get in with the locals. That said, please don't request me if you're not willing to at least share a little chat or a beer on the balcony.
I'm easily excitable and adventurous, and I cannot wait to get out and see more of the world and its interesting cultures. I definitely have the travel bug!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in Antwerp and Amsterdam, and both experiences were excellent! I've also hosted a number of times, and I've always had positive and culturing experiences :)

Interests

I'm a student in a challenging major, so most of my time is spent studying. However, when I get a minute to myself, I'm normally making art, longboarding, hula hooping, searching for new music, going to shows, exploring, drinking tea, camping, or hiking. I also love to go out and party in Berlin, so if you need advice on where to go, I'm happy to provide suggestions.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I'm not too big on movies (only because I have a very short attention span), but I love the classics like LOTR and Star Wars, as well as alternative film like Once or Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Books: HUGE fan of Carl Sagan, so you can guess I'll be interested in anything by him (as well as Hawking, Tyson, etc). Fantasy is my favorite genre, though, and I'm pretty sure I've read almost every dragon book available in the library. Though I've outgrown it a little, Eragon has still stuck as my favorite book of all time. :)

Music: I adore music; I can get into almost anything. My go-to, however, is indie or electronica (Banks, Bon Iver, classic Coldplay, Radiohead, Cashmere Cat, Purity Ring, Lydia, The National... I could go all day).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I've seen thus far is the view from a hike I did in Bilbao, Spain. Ask me about it when you stay with me, and I'll be sure to tell you about it!

Also, I've been to many of the national parks in the US: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, Zion, Yellowstone, Petrified Forest, Glacier, Great Smokies, Grand Tetons, Everglades, Biscayne, Sequoia, Shenandoah, and Yosemite.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you like learning about science (specifically physics), I'm your girl. I can also teach you a good bit about camping, longboarding, hula hoop dancing, and of course the good ol' Southern culture.

As for what I want to learn, I want to know everything about everything. However, I'm extra interested in different languages, so if you know any, I'd love to be your student. :)

If you stay with me, nothing would make me happier than you sharing some of your local cuisine with me - either cooking or just a recipe! I am not a creative cook by any means -despite the fact that I can make a delicious Southern spread- so I am always looking for ways to spice up my kitchen and get me out of my boring food routine.
