Hello All, I'm Ash and I have recently joined the couch-surfing frenzy!

I am 25 and from the great down under (Australia).
Over the last 11 months I have been back-packing around the world. I started in Southern Africa and since then have worked my way through South, East and North Africa, The Middle East and now Europe!!

As part of my travels I also volunteered in East Africa where I helped to teach children and adults English, and also in South Africa where I volunteered in animal conservation. I did babysitting in Florence Italy and will soon be teaching English as part of a program in Poland.

In general I just love adventure, experiencing new things and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in meeting new people all over the world and also want to experience life living as a local.

I believe that it is really only from these types of experiences that you get a true understanding of what a place is like. hotels don't go it for me anymore - plus I'm a backpacker - so on budget :) :)

No matter where you travel, I find that people are so similar. Therefore, I enjoy making new friends from all across the globe.

Interests

As mentioned above I am very adventurous and therefore love exploring! In my downtime, I appreciate a lovely glass of wine whilst watching a movie, and maybe even adding some cheese or chocolate in to the mix.

I have owned a lot of pets previously including dogs, horses, chickens, parrots, and more.
So yes, I am one of those... people (crazy animal lovers).

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music depends on my mood of the day. I can go from listening to a popular musical classic to some acoustic and then even some gangster RnB or club music.

I am a BIG sucker for movies. My favourite movies include: The Scarlet Pimpernel (an old classic, love it!), Me before you, Inception (actually anything with Leonardo DiCaprio), The Divergent series, Audrey Hepburn Classics, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Harry Potter, Blood Diamond.
- Pretty much any Rom Com, Comedy, Musical, Disney etc I love.

TV series - Suits (yes!), Game of Thrones (Yes!), Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, OC, Breaking Bad (amazing), Orange is the new black, the Mentalist

Books - I like learning so Am naturally drawn to books on psychology, business, etc. .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a couple:
Have done 4 bungee jumps - in Africa & NZ

Volunteered and taught English in Africa - was one of the best things I have ever done in my life

Scuba diving in Seychelles & Indonesia

Climbed a massive sand dune in Namibia Africa.

Saw the pyramids and ancient monuments in Egypt

Rode a camel and camped overnight in the Sahara Desert, Morocco
