Hi there, I’m Ashleigh and I am an artist who loves to travel, experience different cultures and try new things! When I’m not busy backpacking the world I study fine art on the English south coast. Painting is my passion, but I also really enjoy surfing, exploring and playing my ukulele :) I also love adrenaline, there isn’t much that I’m too scared to try ;)

Until recently I was a professional athlete in a Wintersport called Skeleton but then decided to pursue my passion for art and follow my dream of traveling the world! Last year I did just that, packed my bags with a one way ticket to the other side of the world after quitting my job as an athlete and ended up traveling for half a year. Overall, I am a creative and adventurous person who loves connecting with like-minded people from all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On my previous travels I got so much from interacting with locals and I learnt a ton from getting to know other cultures and their mindsets and outlooks on life. I want to continue learning and exploring these connections, share stories and make memories together!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Drove the length of Vietnam on a motorbike by myself in a month
- Stood on top of a flying plane
- Dived with Mata Rays
- Renovated a boat from scratch alone and living on it for six years
- Won gold at the youth Olympics

I would love to get better at surfing, any help on that front would be massively appreciated
Other than that I am open to learning any new skills, especially creative stuff !

What I Can Share with Hosts

My ukulele is always with me, I’ve only been playing for a year now but love to whip out a tune at the beach for sunset! I am also happy to share any artist skills I have learnt, wether that is painting, drawing, printmaking or jewellery making (or making/building anything in general) and I’m generally happy to be a helping hand, also love a good game of chess ;)
